ABOUT
Mutis Miscellany is a poetic digital library I designed as part of Taller dos Puntos by combining and digitally intervening five science books from José Celestino Mutis's collection of the National Library of Colombia. Mutis was the leader of one of Colombia's most known botanical expeditions, and this collection gathers a large part of his personal library.
The project invites poetic readings of science, relating insects, angles, birds, geometric shapes, bodies, languages, and methods through different graphic and editorial pieces, such as
illustrated summaries, listed verses, images, typographic posters and a web interactive button called THE RANDOM MACHINE that produces graphic pieces in real time.
