SABANA RAILWAY STATION

The Sabana railway station in Bogotá remained closed and abandoned for 20 years after the railway system in Colombia shot down. I worked in the Escuela Taller de Bogotá foundation (institution that carried out it's restoration) collaborating in the development of artistic and cultural initiatives in the station. Together with neighbors, collectives and public and private initiatives, we developed festivals, workshops, creative laboratories, contests, exhibitions, among other artistic manifestations.

In addition to this, I coordinated a citizen participation strategy based on meetings, workshops and different social cartographies, to include the ideas of neighbors and interested people in the formulation of the government plan for the protection of this space as a cultural heritage (PEMP).

Years: 2015-2016.
Cultural team: Susana Eslava, Daniel Olarte, Filip Legler, Sandra Eichmann, Luis Gonzalez, Camilo Mutis, entre otrxs.

* In addition to the cultural team, many of the activities were carried out thanks to different teams and institutions, such as the National University of Colombia, the Santa Fe Gallery, IDARTES, the Bogotá Institute of Cultural Heritage, Pymp my Carroça, among others.
